Exterior retractable solar screens block up to 90% of the heat gain, reduce indoor temperatures by up to 25 degrees, and block up to 97% of damaging UV rays – all while maintaining your view. They can be controlled with switches, remote transmitters, and even home automation systems. These see-through shades come in a range of weaves, colors and styles. They help to minimize the glare, while maintaining your view.
"The automatic sun screen system installed for us by Classic Coverings a year ago has worked perfectly in eliminating undesireable heat and sun glare. The company was prompt and courteous, providing outstanding customer service. We would highly recommend it to anyone desiring an effective and reliable screening system." S. Longfield, Sisters, OR.
Wind is the most common concern with exterior retractable screen systems. Traditional systems are unsecured so they billow and flutter noisily and are more prone to damage. Tucson SunFix® screens eliminate traditional concerns and protect your home with the push of a button. The exclusive SunFix system creates a virtual stationary screen capable of being used during windy conditions. This self-locking tension system eliminates the need for unsightly bungy cords, tie down straps, or any other type of hardware previously used to secure retractable screens.
The Tucson SunFix motor has built-in wireless operation using Somfy’s radio remote control system called Radio Technology Somfy™ (RTS). This advanced technology enables you to operate your screen at the touch of a button – in wall or handheld remote. Somfy custom programmed the SunFix motor to apply tension to the fabric once the bottom bar of the shade is locked into place by the unique SunFix ramp. When the screen is raised, the motor actually lowers the screen slightly to clear the SunFix ramp, and then raises the screen to the top.

For patio applications, where the solar screen is not mounted on a wall, we recommend the Tucson product without the SunFix feature and with the heavy-duty 2” round bottom bar. The heavy bottom bar helps keep the fabric stable in windy conditions, and resists deflection.
Eclipse Titan For large patio spans up to 21 feet, we also offer the Eclipse Titan exterior solar screen. Living up to its name, this heavy-duty product is capable of spanning wide openings without deflection of the roller tube.
Insolroll Oasis For non-windy environments, we offer the Insolroll Oasis exterior solar screens. The Oasis features an enclosed head box and either side tracks or cables to secure the bottom bar of the shade. For sites, such as eastern exposures, or for smaller applications, the Oasis is a very cost effective solution. |

screens, and can say with confidence that the Tucson SunFix system is the best available in the industry for window shading applications in windy environments. All exterior screens come with side tracks or cables to guide the bottom bar of the screen. Most exterior screens do not retain or lock into place the bottom bar. These screens tend to billow and flutter in the wind. Other exterior screens feature fabric edges that are retained into the side tracks. While a good solution for wind, these screens are subject to jamming in the side tracks and tend to be less reliable. The Tucson SunFix system provides the best of all worlds – a bottom bar locked into place to prevent the fabric from fluttering, and a free fabric edge to improve the reliability of the screen.
